Pertükân Kalesi is in a considerably ruined state, east of Tekevler village — the source also gives it as Gündenu — four kilometres southwest of Sason in Batman.
The provincial directorate reads its history from its condition. Because the castle is easy to reach, it says, one understands that it changed hands many times in the conflicts of the past; and the collapses and large breaches in its walls show it was a focus of fighting.
That is inference from the fabric rather than from any record. The same directorate reasons the opposite way about Beksi Kalesi in this province, taking the difficulty of its position as showing it was never taken at all.
