The clock tower standing opposite the provincial government building in Siirt is a modern one, built in 1974-75, but the clock in it is older: the earlier tower, put up east of the great mosque in 1905 by Alaaddin Paşa, was demolished, and its clock was placed in this one.
The tower is of cut stone, in four sections divided from one another by mouldings above a stone base, with a clock face set on each side and a dome on a smaller prism above. It is on Kurtalan Yolu Caddesi in the Bahçelievler quarter.
