The mosque was built by the Ottoman vizier Hasan Fehmi Paşa, and the provincial directorate counts it among the oldest mosques to have come down to the present.
It is built of stone, brick and timber, and the interior carries decorative work. It has been restored in detail and reopened for use.
The approach is on asphalt road and it is open to visitors in every season.
