The Taşhan in Trabzon was built between 1531 and 1533 by İskender Paşa, governor of the city, and it has come down through repairs made at various times.
Its walls are of dressed stone, while the arcade arches and the vaulted dome are brick. The roof was once covered with Turkish tiles; in the repair of 1980 that covering was changed to concrete mosaic. It is in the Çarsi quarter, in the city centre.
