Vakıf Nature Park is on the Saros coast at Vakıf village in Enez district of Edirne province, and anyone going should know that the buildings on it do not work. The directorate records 43 villa-type units registered to the Forest Directorate's inventory and 16 more not registered, along with a store, an administration building, a dining hall, a generator building and an indoor swimming pool area, and states that all of these stand idle and out of use. Under a development plan approved in 2019 they are to be repaired and altered.
Everything else the page describes is also still to come: walking and cycling paths, a country house camping area, country restaurants, a conference hall, toilets, car parks, and open-air activity grounds including sports and play areas, an adventure park, pentathlon, archery and an amphitheatre are all listed as planned. Capacity is given as 100 visitors and 10 vehicles.
The park covers 26.78 hectares within the forest cadastre and was declared by ministerial approval on 21 May 2018. Its southern boundary is the Gulf of Saros, its eastern the forest cadastre line, its northern the vehicle road linking the shores of Vakıf and Sultaniçe villages, and its western the Gökgör stream. It has a wide beach on the gulf, and the Vakıf Tuzla lagoon is 2.5 kilometres away.
West of the units, running to the Gökgör stream, lies the Sazlıkbaşı state forest. Oak dominates it, mixed with ash, box, maritime pine, black pine and stone pine. The area is rich in birds and mammals and sits on the spring and autumn migration route of songbirds. The concession is held by a youth foundation.
