The Vezirsuyu recreation area covers 288 hectares and adjoins the Şahinkaya canyon, with the lake in view. It was given the status of a recreation ground in 2007 and declared a nature park by the ministry in 2011.
Amateur angling is practised in the recreation area and the country around it. Visitors come above all to spend time and to picnic, and while they are here they walk, exercise, take photographs, watch wildlife and plants, and play football, volleyball and basketball.
The source records the area as suited to further uses — cycling, nature walks, nature education, scouting and other forms of ecotourism and recreation — and as having the visitor numbers to support them.
