Sarıgazel Nature Park lies three kilometres from Ondokuzmayıs town in Samsun province and 38 from Samsun city. It covers 143 hectares and was registered in 2011, with the area record giving 11 July as the date.
The woodland mixes conifers and broadleaves: ash, maritime pine, red pine, Monterey pine, oak, maple and hornbeam, with maquis groups among the trees. Within the park and its zone of ecological influence, survey established 73 vertebrate species — four amphibians, seven reptiles, 45 birds and 17 mammals.
Facilities are simple and practical: a country restaurant, a basketball court, a prayer room, toilets, a baby care unit and picnic arbours. Walking, picnicking, cycling, photography and watching plants and animals are the activities the directorate lists, on ground it describes as suited to resting and to outdoor events. Capacity is 250 visitors and 100 vehicles, with hours of 09:00 to 19:00.
The nearest airport is Çarşamba, 58 kilometres away.
