The park takes its name from the Amazons - the warrior women said to have lived in the Terme district in earlier times. It covers 562.65 hectares and was registered in 2015.
The nature conservation directorate describes this stretch of the Black Sea shore as one of the rare points where the sea meets conifers: flood-plain forest, dune and sea ecosystems together. Narrow-leaved ash and alder dominate, with plantations of maritime pine and red pine set among them by hand. It is 90 kilometres from Samsun and 20 from Terme; the nearest airport, Çarsamba, is 38 kilometres away. It has capacity for 250 visitors and 100 vehicles.
What there is to do here is watching, and the park has a tower built for it. The bird species listed for the area include little egret, purple heron, red-crested pochard, mallard, teal, coot, moorhen, velvet scoter, glossy ibis, turtle dove, quail, pheasant and peregrine falcon; among mammals the list gives wild boar, golden jackal and roe deer. On the northwestern edge, where the park meets the Black Sea, sand lily grows. A small proportion of Monterey pine is mixed into the planted pine stands. The nature conservation directorate names walking, photography and plant and animal observation as its uses.
From the centre of Terme the park can be reached either by the Sivaslılar neighbourhood road or by the Gölyazı neighbourhood road.

- Across Samsun as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 7.2 °C in February to 23.7 °C in August; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August, September and October; rainfall is heaviest in November (83 mm) and lightest in July (35 mm). Long-term means for 1929-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
