Our compilation for the strait itself, not an official route. The stops were chosen by how close they stand to the line of the Bosphorus rather than by which district or which shore they belong to, so the route crosses between Europe and Asia and does not try to keep to one side.
On the European shore the route takes in Dolmabahçe Sarayı and Yıldız Sarayı near the southern end, then Rumeli Hisarı and the Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi further north, where the strait narrows. Facing them across the water are Beylerbeyi Sarayı and Küçüksu Kasrı, close to their European counterparts in a straight line and reached by bridge or ferry.
The Kız Kulesi stands offshore near the mouth of the strait and is the only stop here that cannot be reached on foot at all. The crossings are by bridge or by ferry, and which one is quicker depends on the hour rather than on the distance.
No ferry or driving times are given anywhere in this guide, because we do not have them; the distances shown are straight lines over water and land alike. What each place is, when it was last checked, and which source says so is on its own page.
