Our compilation for İzmir, not an official route. Ephesus at Selçuk and the multi-layered cultural landscape at Bergama are both on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and both are on this route.
Ephesus is the anchor, with the House of the Virgin Mary on the hill above and the Ephesus Museum at Selçuk. Together they are the most looked-up group in the province by a wide margin.
Bergama is well north of the city and deserves a trip of its own rather than an afternoon; the museum there belongs with it. In the city, the clock tower, the Kemeraltı market beside it and the archaeological museum stand within a few hundred metres of one another in Konak, with the Atatürk museum and the cartoon museum a little north. Bornova is north-east of the centre, the wildlife park is at Çiğli, and Karaburun is out on the peninsula to the west — the furthest stop from the rest.
The touchable modern art museum and the TCDD museum and art gallery have no coordinates in our inventory, so where they fall in the ordering means nothing; treat them as unplaced. No driving times are given anywhere here — straight-line distance is not driving time, and we do not have the second. What each place is, when it was last checked, and which source says so is on its own page.
