The Ayçiçeği cycling valley was built to world standards for national and international championships. The 2020 Mountain Bike World Championship, counted among the largest events of its kind and held in Türkiye for the first time, took place here.
Followed both by the spectators who came to the city from abroad and, through television, by countries around the world, it offered an opportunity of real importance for the standing of the city and the country and for the future of tourism here. Sakarya has also become, by the directorate's account, the thirteenth city to earn the title of bicycle-friendly city, a distinction held by twelve others in the world.
The site has cafés, seating areas, cycle paths and courses. The professional course is closed except during competitions; two separate public courses, one short and one long, run on asphalt.
The valley hosts a good many events and concerts. The road to it is asphalt and it can be visited in any season.
