Kirpiyan yayla is reached through Setce village in the Geyve district, fifty kilometres from the centre of Sakarya. Its plant cover is what draws walkers, and it is one of the routes most used by them; local people graze animals on it through the summer.
Two practical things to know. In winter heavy snow makes getting there difficult. And apart from the yayla houses there is nowhere to stay and nowhere to eat or drink on the pasture, so anyone coming for the day should bring what they need.
