The Doğançay waterfall lies in a stream bed three hundred metres below the end of the road, reached by a dirt path through a hazel grove; the walk down and back up takes about forty minutes, and the spot is usually cool. It is one of the most important waterfalls in Sakarya and a favourite with people who love the outdoors, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism lists it among the first places to see in the province.
The road up to it doubles as a walking and trekking route. It is winding and wide enough for only two cars, so large vehicles may have trouble. In hard winters the last kilometres are covered with snow; at other times the drive is easy.
There is a local café at the head of the path, though it is not always open, and the path down to the falls starts beside it.

- Across Sakarya as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 6.3 °C in January to 23.6 °C in July; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August, September and October; rainfall is heaviest in December (106 mm) and lightest in August (48 mm). Long-term means for 1951-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).

- The falls are twenty-five kilometres from the city centre at an altitude of 600 metres. The road is metalled except for the last two kilometres, which are dirt.
