The city museum of Çubuk occupies the Bekir Ağalar mansion, one of the few historic buildings in the district and once the house of a wealthy family. The mansion was restored and arranged in 2013, opened as an exhibition hall in 2015, and registered as a city museum by the ministry of culture and tourism in 2017.
The house carries a further importance of its own: Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed here during his visit to the district in 1933.
On display are models recounting the battle of Ankara of 1402 and life in the early twentieth century, together with historic objects gathered partly by purchase and partly by donation.
The museum is at Atatürk Caddesi No 54, Cumhuriyet, Çubuk.
