Ekşisu is a picnic ground with wide parkland 11 kilometres from the centre of Erzincan, on the old road to Erzurum, and it is named for what comes out of the earth there: natural mineral water. The provincial directorate counts it among the most popular of the province's picnic grounds, with visitors from Türkiye and abroad.
The water running from the fountains here is known as Bögert, and by the directorate's account it is used against anaemia and complaints of the liver, stomach, intestines and bile ducts. It is reached by car or by municipal bus.
