Elevit stands at 1,884 metres in the Çamlihemsin district of Rize. The traditional plateau houses are part of what people come for, and there is somewhere to stay; the plateau is visited mostly in summer, largely by people who have moved away and return.
It is known for its horon dances, and the festivities held in August draw attention for that reason. Wild goats and other animals particular to the Black Sea live in the country around. The plateau is seven kilometres from Çat, and can be reached by car or bicycle along the road, or on foot from Çat in about three hours.
