Hızırilyas Tepesi Tabiat Parkı covers 32 hectares across the boundaries of Yalç and Hızırilyas villages in the Tirebolu district of Giresun, declared on 26 October 2020. Its assets are given as Scots pine forest, plant diversity and the views.
Scots pine dominates, followed by aspen, chestnut and alder, with alder buckthorn, hornbeam and oak in places and hop hornbeam, maple and wild hazel in some parts. The understorey differs by aspect: on the shaded sides Pontic rhododendron, yellow azalea and tree heath.
Bear, roe deer, hare, wolf, fox, badger, weasel, beech and pine marten, stoat, jackal and wild boar are the mammals seen here, with raven, falcon, buzzard, golden eagle, harrier, eagle owl, owl and kite among the birds of prey.
Nothing has been built: the development plan is still in preparation and construction will follow within that process, so visitors use the area as it stands. Access is a practical matter here — the paths through the surrounding farmland are what people use to reach the site, and the village roads run around it rather than into it. Tirebolu is 12 kilometres away, Espiye 17, Giresun 49, and Ordu-Giresun airport 75.
