Guide
Yurduntepe is a ski area on Ilgaz Mountain in Kastamonu province, with skiing between 1,838 and 2,330 metres. Its chairlift system, called Ilgaz 2, opened on 12 January 2020. The run, laid out in two stages, is 5,600 metres long, with easy and intermediate sections suited to alpine skiing and snowboarding.
The first building you reach is a three-storey day lodge with 1,454 square metres of indoor space, where you can eat, rest and hire all your ski equipment. The first stage of the lift climbs to 2,187 metres, where a cafeteria looks out across the Ilgaz mountains.
Getting there
Take the Ilgaz Mountain road to the national park entrance, carry on into section 2 of the park, and follow the direction signs for about 6 kilometres to the day lodge. On days when the lift is running, it carries you on to the summit café at about 2,300 metres.
