The museum is about one thing: how İstanbul got its water. It follows the route from the source to the city — the historic structures built along the way, the engineering behind them, and what a reliable water supply meant for daily life in the city.
It stands on the İSKİ grounds at Terkos in Arnavutköy, beside the system it explains: visits include the Terkos water system itself, with a member of staff guiding the walk-through. The same site has a café, a children's playground and walking paths, so it works as a half-day out rather than a single room to look at.
Entry is free and the tours run at the top of each hour on the days the museum is open.
