The bridge at Sarayiçi crosses the Tunca and links the city to the palace. It carries no inscription, but it was built for Süleyman the Magnificent by Mimar Sinan; because its construction falls between the dates of the Justice and Scales pavilions, it is dated to 1560.

It is built throughout of cut stone. Today it has four arches, though it is described as having five. The arches are of the depressed pointed type, and cutwaters are set against the piers — triangular ones on the upstream side, finished as pyramids, and a half-hexagon in the middle.
