The bridge was built over the Tunca inside the palace grounds, between the Iron Gate and the Justice Pavilion. Its date is not known; it is thought to have been built in 1452, in the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror. It is 34 metres long, with three arches — a large one in the middle and smaller ones at the sides — and relief openings to take flood water.
