Kavaklı nature conservation area covers 353 hectares south-west of Karabük, within the central and Yenice districts, and was protected on 23 December 1987.
Two roads reach it, both of them village roads off the D300 towards Zonguldak: the first leaves at the Filyos 5 bridge around the 28th kilometre, runs 1.5 kilometres to Kuzdağ village and then about six more to the area; the second branches from the same highway further on.
