On every side of Alan Yaylası the land is covered in pine forest, an upland pasture spread over a very wide area 18 km from Kırıkhan. The governorship praises it for its air, its water and its scenery, and in spring the meadows fill with wild flowers.
A 40 km stabilised road also links the plateau with İskenderun. Other pastures lie along it, Haymapınar, Değirmendere, Paşaoluk and Akarca among them, used by people from İskenderun and the villages around it. Those planning to camp or picnic up here should bring everything they need with them.
