The building is used as a mosque today, but the source raises a different possibility: that it may originally have been a mint. It is thought to belong to the thirteenth century.
It is built of rubble and cut stone, covered by three domes resting on piers. It is in the Medrese quarter, in the centre of Kırşehir.
