In the Hacıhalil quarter of Safranbolu, the Turkish Delight and Saffron Museum, which the education ministry's page calls the first of its kind in Türkiye, brings together three things the town is known for: its historic houses, its lokum and its saffron.
The museum is set in a three-storey historic building, so a visit doubles as a look round an old Safranbolu house. You can watch how lokum is made and follow saffron from planting and growing through the harvest to the finished spice.
