Neşetsuyu Nature Park covers 67.47 hectares within the Bahçeköy quarter of the Sarıyer district of İstanbul, six kilometres north-west of Bahçeköy and beside the Falih Rıfkı Atay Nature Park. Established in 2011, it is one of nine nature parks inside the Belgrade Forest, and takes its name from Professor Neşet Bey, who lived from 1881 to 1924.
The Büyük Bent, the great dam on the Kırkçeşme water channel, stands to the south-west of the park, and within the park are the remains of a cistern and an open-air prayer place.
The soil here has been under strain. In 2000 it was found that the ground in this park — one of the most popular places of recreation in İstanbul — had begun to harden after years of use: tree roots had stopped growing, bacterial and fungal populations had risen because of the lack of oxygen in the soil, and fallen leaves could no longer work through the hardened surface to feed it. The park was closed to picnics until 2005.
The Belgrade Forest holds a considerable number of mammal and bird species. The main mammals of the park are wild boar, golden jackal, deer, roe deer, fox, wolf, weasel, hare, squirrel, tortoise and hedgehog, and among the birds recorded are falcon, sparrowhawk, magpie, crow, woodpecker, sparrow, chaffinch and goldfinch.
