The Paşa redoubts stand on the Karakum road, on the east of the Sinop peninsula, and they played an important part in the defence of the city against the Russian fleet during the raid on Sinop — the naval battle — of 1853.
They are laid out in a half-moon, with eleven gun emplacements on the upper level, a magazine, large spaces used as dormitories, and a cellar. They are reached by city transport.
