The lake stands 1,030 metres above sea level and covers 186,000 square metres, reaching twenty-two metres at its deepest. It is 1,100 metres long and at most a hundred metres wide. It holds most water at the end of spring and the beginning of summer, from the spring rains and the melting snow.
