The Taş Oda mansion in Burdur is one of the examples of seventeenth-century Ottoman domestic architecture in the town. It has two storeys, the lower of stone and the upper of mudbrick and timber, and the fountain in the lower part of the stair landing leading up to the first floor is built of cut stone blocks. On the ground floor, beside a pointed-arched stable, are two large rooms and one small one.
On the upper floor, rooms are ranged along the southern and western sides of a rectangular hall. The ceiling of that hall is made of wooden laths nailed in place, and the laths and the triangles of various sizes between them are painted blue, red and green. The principal room is at the north end of the hall, and its wooden bedding closet, cupboards, fireplace hood, ceiling and window frames, decorated with painted work over gold and silver leaf, are the most striking part of the building. It is on Veis Sokak in the Pazar quarter.
