Yabanardıl Şeyhandede Tabiat Parkı was declared on 7 December 2021 and covers 86.5 hectares in the Çermik district of Diyarbakır. The whole of it is state forest. The Directorate's page opens by stating that the park is under construction.
Three waterfalls are its most concrete feature, and the ground also holds volcanic rock, travertine and caves. Oak and almond are the dominant trees. The Directorate says plainly that the area is small and its vegetation poor: survey has recorded 69 taxa belonging to 33 families, among them terebinth, wild celery, corn chamomile, chicory, tragacanth, clover, downy oak, walnut, fig, plantain, Christ's thorn, hawthorn, maple and mullein.
The animals observed include chukar, swift, tit, eagle, sparrowhawk, vulture, buzzard, woodpecker, goldfinch, magpie, sparrow, jay, rock dove, white stork, nuthatch and grey wagtail, along with squirrel, hare, wolf, fox, crested porcupine, green lizard, the large whip snake, the starred agama and the marsh frog.
What exists on the ground is still only plan. The development plan has been drawn up and the project stage is next; shelters, a country café, a tent camping ground, a day-use area, viewing terraces and walking paths are to be planned after that.
Access is by private vehicle. The park is 1.5 kilometres from Yabanardıl village and 3 from Şeyhandede, linked by a forest road; 35 kilometres from Çermik, 65 from Ergani and from the Diyarbakır–Elazığ road, 50 from Siverek in Şanlıurfa, and 125 from Diyarbakır, of which 60 kilometres are motorway. The nearest airport is Diyarbakır, 135 kilometres away.
