The church in the village of Akpınar in the Yağlıdere district, known as the Kırkharman or the Akpınar church, was registered by decision of the regional conservation board in Trabzon dated 3 July 2003.
It is a basilica of three aisles. The ceiling is divided into three sections and built as a barrel vault in masonry stone, with semicircular arches strengthening the covering. Four piers, their capitals worked in the Ionic manner, carry the upper part of the building.
