Yeniçağa Gölü is a basin lake right by the centre of Yeniçağa district, on the Bolu–Ankara highway. It lies at 990 m, spreads over 2780 decares and reaches 12 m at its deepest point.

Its shores are rich in water birds, and a birdwatching tower stands on the bank. In the migration season the lake is an important stop for honey buzzards, ospreys and ruddy shelducks, while cranes, imperial eagles, herons, bitterns and black-winged stilts live around it. The lake holds carp, tench and crayfish, and line fishing is allowed.
