Troy is south of the town, and the site and its museum stand about a kilometre apart. Across the strait are the Şehitler Abidesi memorial at Eceabat and, further north on the Gelibolu peninsula, the Gallipoli historical site.
Assos is on the southern coast, with Alexandreia Troas between it and Troy; those are the ones that take you furthest.
