Our compilation for Denizli, not an official route. Most of its stops have settlement-level positions only in our inventory, so only a handful could be ordered at all, and any chain we could measure would describe those few rather than the route.
Two of the three are the same ancient city. Our inventory holds a Hierapolis Archaeological Site and a Pamukkale Hierapolis Ancient City as separate records, 1.8 kilometres apart in the data — which could be two ends of one site or one site entered twice. We have not merged them. Writing this also corrected the second record's type, which read as a castle because of the kale at the end of Pamukkale.
The unplaced stops carry the heaviest sources on the route. Laodikeia's source document runs past twenty-five thousand characters and Tripolis past fourteen thousand; Heraklia Salbace at Tavas and Tabea at Kale are ancient cities too, and the Pamukkale archaeological museum and the ethnography museum complete the list.
The third of the placed stops is the temple of Apollo Lairbenos at Çal, some 30 kilometres north of Pamukkale and the only stop that pulls away from it. What each place is, and who says so, is on its own page.
