Eight Seljuk sultans lie in this tomb tower on the Alâeddin hill in Konya, beside the Alâeddin mosque: Kiliçarslan I, Keyhüsrev I, Süleyman Şah II, Kiliçarslan II, Alâeddin Keykubad, Keyhüsrev II, Kiliçarslan IV and Keyhüsrev III. It was built by Kiliçarslan II, in the name of the Anatolian Seljuk sultans.
The provincial directorate says there is no other conical tomb tower of this quality and height in the country, and that standing on the Alâeddin hill adds to its grandeur. From the traces that remain it is understood that its upper part was once entirely faced with tiles.
