The church of Aya Stefanos stands on Yeşilada, the island in Lake Eğirdir. It runs east to west, rectangular in plan, with three aisles and an apse, and was built in the second half of the nineteenth century. The side walls are rubble stone, and the gabled roof, plastered with mortar on its inner face and resting on plastered wooden posts, is covered with pantiles.
On the east wall is a projecting semicircular apse, lit by one window below, two at the level of the second storey and a round window at the top, with the window surrounds framed in blocks of white marble. Inside, the plaster decoration has fallen away. The church was taken into the restoration programme under the Lakes Region research project, and its roof covering was later renewed, its outer walls rebuilt and its internal woodwork replaced.
