The ground this park stands on used to belong to the army. It was registered as a nature park in August 2014 at 33 hectares, and a decision of December 2020 revised the boundary and raised it to 98.5.
What is aimed at here, in the words of the Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks, is passing the site's natural values on to coming generations while nature tourism is carried on within the balance of protection and use. It has capacity for 1,800 visitors and 250 vehicles. The park is in the Battalgazi district of Malatya.
