The Tabaklar bath in Bolu is thought to have been built in the sixteenth century by Tahvil Mehmet Pasha as a double bath, the women's section considerably smaller than the men's. Two things have changed it. The changing block was demolished during road works in the past, so only the cold and hot sections survive; and the building is not working as a bath today — the regional directorate of foundations has leased it as commercial premises and a cafe.
All its walls are laid in rubble stone and the eaves have stone mouldings. The cold room and the ablution section are covered with vaults and the hot rooms with domes, with a small chamber at each corner. It is in the Tabaklar quarter in the centre of Bolu.
