The waterfront houses at Değirmendere, in the Gölcük district of Kocaeli, were renewed true to their original form under the conservation board and opened for public use.
The project set up the infrastructure for artistic activity in them: there is a ceramics museum and a museum of wooden sculpture, along with a boutique guest house, restaurants, cafes and shops selling local produce.
