The Doğanlı plane stands at the Meydan Tepe locality in Doğanlı village, Çelikhan district of Adıyaman province, on the Adıyaman-Çelikhan road 40 kilometres from Adıyaman. Its measurement table gives the district as Merkez rather than Çelikhan.
Unlike the directorate's other monument pages, this one carries no description, only a survey record made on 20 August 2008 — which matters, because everything below is the tree as it stood then. The species is oriental plane, Platanus orientalis. Its estimated age is 550 years. It is 40 metres tall, with a girth of 12 metres and a trunk four metres across, and it covers 1,000 square metres of ground. The crown radius is recorded by direction in centimetres: 1,700 to the north, 1,600 to the east, 1,400 to the south and 1,500 to the west.
The trunk is described as forked, thickly so from the old spreading bole upwards, and that forking is listed both as the tree's distinguishing feature and as its natural value. Its condition at survey was sound, and the land is state-owned.
The surrounding landscape is forest of degraded oak on mountainous ground, on sandy clay loam, with cold winters and cool summers. No declaration date, opening hours or capacity appear on the page.
