The tomb of Abuzer Gaffari is at Ziyaret village, about five kilometres from the centre of Adıyaman, and it is one of the best known places of visitation in the province.
What is said about it is recorded as tradition rather than as fact. Abuzer Gaffari is said to have been one of the Companions of the Prophet; the account runs that he was killed fighting at Adıyaman and buried here, and that the tomb was built by Murad IV on his return from the Baghdad campaign.
