The old houses of Uşak are generally two storeys, the lower of stone and the upper of timber. They carry the features of Ottoman domestic architecture and have been brought under protection so that the historic fabric is not lost.
The quarters to walk through are Aybey, Karaağaç, Kurtuluş and Işık, where the old houses stand in numbers; they begin in the back streets behind the municipality building and can be reached on foot.
