Everything known about the age of the Hacı Yadigâr mosque comes from one inscription; its earliest repair is dated 1155. The eight-line text over its inner door records that the building was repaired in 1155 and again in 1514, and, in lines written by the poet Sabir, gives 1871 as the date of the last repair. Because the earliest of those repairs is so early, the provincial directorate counts it among the oldest mosques in Urfa.
