The mosque standing today is a rebuilding: the one Haydar Çavus had built at the beginning of the nineteenth century burned in 1873, and it was built again in the neo-classical manner.
It is a plain building, square in plan with a single dome. It is in the Haydar Çavus quarter in the centre of Bandırma and is reached by city transport.
