North of İskilip, in Çorum province, a high ridge covered with Scots pine, black pine, fir and oak carries a number of interconnected highland pastures. The ones people use are on and off the İskilip-Tosya road: Elmabeli, Besoluk and Çiçekli lie along that road, and turning left at its eighth kilometre and continuing seventeen kilometres brings you to the Demirbuku and Yalak pastures, all of them used heavily for picnics and days out.
Elmabeli is thirteen kilometres from İskilip on the Tosya road. The forestry administration has largely completed its infrastructure, and with its playing fields it serves local people for day trips, recreation and sport.
