Karaca Tabiat Parkı was declared on 3 April 2023 and covers 230.38 hectares within the cadastral boundaries of Karacasu and Taşoluk villages in Bolu. Work on its development plan is still under way, and the park is therefore not open to visitors and has no facilities.
The site holds both land and water ecosystems. Pure fir and beech forest grows here along with mixed stands, and the meadows and pastures between them matter for wildlife and for the ecological balance; there is also a lake ecosystem. The park holds 243 plant taxa, five of them endemic: Lonicera orientalis, the Uludağ fir Abies nordmanniana subsp. bornmulleriana, two deadnettles — Lamium album subsp. crinitum and Lamium maculatum — and the crocus Crocus biflorus subsp. pulchricolor.
Six amphibian, seven reptile, 26 bird, 16 mammal and 2 fish species live here. Two of the animals are endemic: a smooth newt of the Lissotriton vulgaris–kosswigi complex and the hazel dormouse.
The park lies beside the Bolu–Kıbrıscık road and is reached from the centre of Bolu via the town of Karacasu on asphalt about ten metres wide. That approach is planned as the main entrance, and once the park opens, vehicles are to be allowed as far as the car park and stopped there by a barrier.
