Guide

Kartalkaya, 38 km south-east of Bolu, is described by the provincial culture and tourism directorate as Türkiye's most important winter-sports centre. It lies inside the Bolu–Köroğlu Dağı Culture and Tourism Conservation and Development Zone. The season runs from December to April, and three privately run hotels on the mountain provide about 1,000 beds between them.

Within the hotels' ski areas, nine lifts with a combined capacity of 5,000 people an hour serve fifteen runs of varying gradient and difficulty, around 30 km in all. Experienced ski and snowboard instructors work at the resort, every kind of equipment can be hired, and each hotel has its own first-aid service. The directorate also credits Kartalkaya with the largest snowpark in Türkiye, built to European standards, with a main kicker line, boardercross, a rail line and rail boxes at several levels of difficulty.
