Kazıkbeli Yaylası lies within the village of Söğüteli in the district of Kürtün, a hundred kilometres from the centre of Gümüşhane. The last fifty kilometres of the road from the district are gravel.
On the pasture are privately run premises — a grocer, a greengrocer, a country coffee house, a restaurant, a hotel and guest houses — and there is electricity and telephone service.
The natural grassland within its bounds suits grass skiing, camping and caravanning well, and there is ample open grass for runs for skiing on both grass and snow. The pasture is also well suited to mountaineering and camping.
The upland festival and the upland market, which begin on the Wednesday of the first week of July and continue through the summer, do a good deal for the local economy.
