Three tall columns rise in the grounds of the Trakya University rectorate in Edirne's Karaağaç quarter. Together they form the Lozan Anıtı, which commemorates the Treaty of Lausanne, the diplomatic victory under which Karaağaç was returned to Turkish territory. The tallest column, 36.45 m high, stands for Anatolia; the second, at 31.95 m, for Trakya; and the third, 17.45 m, for Karaağaç.

A concrete ring stands for unity, and the figure of a young woman for aesthetics, grace and law; the dove in her hand represents peace and democracy, and the document in her other hand the treaty itself. Trakya University and other Edirne institutions led the project: the foundation stone was laid on 29 March 1998, and the then president, Süleyman Demirel, opened the monument on 19 July 1998. The Lozan museum stands right beside it.
