The Lukyanus inscription and horse relief, also recorded as the Lukyanus monument, is a Roman imperial work in the Beyşehir district of Konya, a hundred metres east of the Fasıllar Hittite rock monument, so the two are naturally seen together.
The monument consists of a relief of a horse 1.85 metres long, carved on a sheer rock face about ten metres above the ground, together with a niche. To the right of the horse, about five metres above ground level, is a Greek inscription measuring 0.85 by 0.95 metres. What the inscription says gives the monument its interest: it describes the horse races to be held for a cavalryman named Lukyanus who died young, and sets out the rules those races were to follow.
